Limited edition artworks generatively sculpted by reckless mailmen.
Art by intended accident
These are aluminium canvases to be sculpted by the Postal Service's frivolous handling of packages. What sets out as a flat boring sheet is tumbled, bent and tormented by the Post, and ends up as a vibrant multifaceted sculpture.
How it works
Upon ordering, we wrap and deliver the becoming artwork to our local post office in Oslo, Norway, where the rough journey ahead begins. It has a thin plastic envelope as cover, there is no additional protective padding. We only send these by regular snail mail, so please be patient.
♫ Please Mister Postman ♫
Mister postman look and see, is there a sculpture in your bag for me? I been waiting a long long time, since I heard from that Skrekkøgle of mine.
X / 111
As every sheet is handled differently in the mail, each Post Post is unique. We don't have any control over how roughly the package is treated, so it might come out really crumbled or just a tad dented. We've made a limited edition of 111 pieces, and each comes with a signed and numbered certificate.
Material and dimensions
The aluminium canvas is a geometrically cut 0.8mm sheet, measuring 48 by 41.5 cm (18.9 by 16.3 inches). The pattern is designed to produce a random faceted surface.
